Stage Hand - 2026 Queer Arts Spectacular
Introduction & Background
Portland Queer Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to lifting up and celebrating Portland’s vibrant queer artists, advocates, and allies. We produce spectacular events that foster community, amplify underrepresented voices, and create joyful, unapologetically queer spaces for artistic expression.
Through collaborative performance, we bring together artists across disciplines to craft unforgettable experiences that speak to our resilience, joy, and shared stories.
Now in our third year, PQA’s annual Queer Arts Spectacular features the work of multiple artists across the entire spectrum of queerness. Each year, the show has featured collaborations between artists working across mediums such as drag, vocal performances, original musical compositions, spoken word poetry, contemporary dance, and short film.
The community response to the show each year has been overwhelmingly positive, and we intend to continue the spirit of inclusivity and equity going forward by inviting a new guest director to lead the Spectacular each year with the hope that this show becomes an annual tradition in Portland Queer Community.
